FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT STONE

Question: Do I have to seal or reseal my granite or marble?
Answer: No, this is a myth created by HGTV. We seal all stones. If they happen to get any dark rings from a glass or pot lid, call us. We can re-seal it for you in under 5 minutes! We also offer cleaners that reinforce the seal everytime you clean. Ask us about it next time you come in or call.

Question: Does OGM do "little" jobs like table tops?
Answer: We do from the smallest of small jobs, to the largest of large jobs. Give us a call, provide us the dimensions, and we can give you an estimate.

Question: Do I need a fabricator or can I do everything myself?
Answer: Stone fabrication is not a do-it-yourself project. The cutting, polishing, and installation of stone not only involves specific tools and machinery, it also requires extensive product knowledge.

Question: Is cleaning my new stone going to take long, and involve lots of expensive cleaners?
Answer: No. Check out the "How Do I Care For My Stone?" page. You will probably find it easier to clean than any other surface in your home or office.

Question: What are my edge options?
Answer: The following pictures are examples of the types of edges that OGM can give your new stone. The simpler the edge, the cheaper the edge. The stones are available in 2 cm and 3 cm thicknesses.

Question: Why are some natural stones more expensive than others?
Answer: Availability, location of quarries in the world (due to transportation expenses), the rarity of the color, and the amount of labor required to extract the stone all affectg the price of natural stone.

Question: It looks like there is a fossil in my stone. Is this possible?
Answer: Yes, many limestones and marbles contain fossils. The fossils are formed from the skeletal materials of marine organisms. Remember, your natural stone is unique! No one in the world has another piece exactly like yours.
